When it comes to web accessibility, we may have new features such as Google’s ability to discern animals, shapes, and otherwise from images themselves, but much of a search engine’s ability to “see” images isn’t rooted in deep dream technology. Crawlers use a lot of contextual items to discern what your image is about and where it fits, and the big part of this is a simple HTML tag called alternative text.

Posted by
Aimee Cozza on March 11th, 2019
Chances are, if you’re on the web in 2019, you have heard of the dreaded algorithm. Facebook is not the only social media channel that utilized “the algorithm”… Subsidiary Instagram also utilizes “the algorithm” over recent posts. Twitter has also begun to adopt the same idea, and other social media programs are falling into line as well. While many of us hate the algorithm (us included; give us a most recent posts timeline!), unfortunately it has become a bit of “web standard”. Understanding how the algorithm works is one way to ensure that you can try to create the very…

Posted by

The other day I was minding my own business, watching Comedy Central via their app, when I caught sight of it. It was a hip, catchy, quick-cut ad for “easy to use” websites hosted on GoDaddy. While the ad may have been pretty, cut together nicely, showcase some OK looking sites on it, and have a cool audio track, GoDaddy’s hosting is anything but nice. We are often tasked with inheriting sites from clients that were either self-created or set up by someone else, and a lot of the times they are hosted on GoDaddy. Why is GoDaddy such a…

hasOptimization is proud to announce the launch of a new website for Think Again Training, LLC a training and consultation services company that provides social awareness training for diversity and social justice issues. Owner Davey Shlasko came to us in search of a new layout. The old layout was not entirely mobile-friendly, and was a bit dated. Davey phrased updated web design quite nicely in an email to us: “…[it is ‘adult’/professional] to replace your website more often than your car.” We can agree with that! Generally you can get about five years out of a solid website design before…

In the past, it’s been possible to just paste your UA code into the MonsterInsights plugin, whether you had control of that GA property or not. With this latest release of MonsterInsights 7.4, that feature has been removed. Not surprising – MonsterInsights has been pushing authentication…
